Here's Bama

I have no clue which is which since I have not seen them in person..

Our Latest Additons

Introducing Lady & Pretty (Bama not pictured)

For as long as I can remember Cooper has always wanted a dog. His dad promised him that when they got Emma they would get him a dog. Well we got Emma and Cooper never forgot that his dad promised him a dog. So last Monday they went to get his puppy. Instead of One they got Three. Cooper got two and Tyler our other grandson got the third one. Cooper was thrilled to death. I'm not sure Cooper's mom was to thrilled over having two puppies. As for me I just hope they don't come to see me at the same time.

Happy Birthday Emma

Saturday May 24, 2008

Saturday we celebrated Emma's birthday party at The Kiddie Carnival in Athens. ( Thanks Denny ) We did not know how she would react to the rides and all the activities but she loved it. She rode every ride over and over and enjoyed all of it. She especially loved the roller coaster and would just laugh everytime she came around.. She loves to walk and just look at everything. She really soaks up the outside. It is so much fun to just watch her and see how she takes everything in. She is free as a bird.
Her birthday is June 2nd but we celebrated early so I could be there.
Thanks to all who helped us celebrate. It was a fun day.

May 15, 2008 Alabama Re-adoption

On May 15, Gary , Sabrina & Emma had to appear before Judge Junkins to have Emma adopted in Alabama. Some states do not require you to do this but Alabama is one of the states that does. So now Emma is officially an Alabamian. After the Judge talked to Gary & Sabrina he turned to Cooper and asked him if he loved his little sister to which he replied. NO....we all laughed, then later he said he was just kidding he did love her.

When the Judge got there he told us he had been home sick, but got up to come to the adoption because it was such a happy time. He usually deals with more unpleasant situations. After the ceremony was over the Judge allowed pictures to be made. Their lawyer was getting us all together to make pictures, when he told us they were ready, Cooper immediately said he did not want his picture made with the judge he did not want to get sick. I think his dad was not very pleased...but I told him at least the judge would know it was not rehearsed what he should say..

In Memory of My Mother

My Mother's Heart
My Mother's heart was a beautiful heart
with limitless love for sharing
A heart that was filled with the bright
shinning gift of her warm understanding
and caring...
My Mother's heart was a generous heart
that finds its true joy in giving,
In sensing the needs of the
people around her
adding a richness to living,
My Mother's heart was a wise, gentle heart
that saw only goodness in others..
No wonder I know
she's the sweetest and best
of all Mother's..
March20, 2002
Of all the special joys in life, The big ones and the small,
A Mother's love and tenderness is the greatest of them all..

Emma's Tea Party

It has been so long since I've been on my blog I have just about forgot how. Just wanted to share some Pictures of Emma in her room. She was all dressed up for Church in her new dress and while waiting for Cooper to get ready she had a tea party. She served make believe tea and M & M's. That is one of her favorite candies. She has grown so much since we got her.

Spring Is Here

I am so ready for Spring. It seems forever since last year. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. My Mom loved Spring time too. It is always with mixed emotions when Spring comes. She died 6 years ago on the first day of Spring. She loved that time of year so I always try to think of the good things around this time and remember what a special person she was. She raised 6 children and taught us about God and the importance of living a Godly life. She was an excellent example to all that knew her. She blessed us in so many way. She's gone but not forgotten.

Who's the Cutest

Emma saw these fellows and decided to model along with them.

Our Valentine Progressive Dinner

Larry and Debra James hosted the main course for the progressive dinner at their house. Now you know who came to the James.... I think Bobby tried to leave Larry and Teresa out or he just might need some photography lessons. Sorry Larry & Teresa....

Figure this One Out

Cooper told my mother the other day, He said "I think Emma looks Chinese don't you"... (Wonder where he thought I came from)

Now Look At Me

Today February 19, I have been in America for 6 months. I came to Athens to my Nana and PaPaw's for my 6 months evaluation. (Why I don't Know) because I am having a good time, can't you tell how much I have changed. For some reason they have to check me out and make sure I am being taken care of. I think I am. I have met so many people and have won so many hearts over the last 6 months. See my brother Cooper, he sure does love me ... a little to much sometime. That's my mom and dad in the picture to. They love me too. I am blessed. Thanks to all of you for loving me. Emma

A Red Thread to China

A red thread to China was cast today
From us to a child so far away,
This thread symbolizes an attachment of hearts
That distance alone can't keep us apart.
Her mother and I are caught in a chase
That time alone will bring us to face
This loving young child we want so much to greet
With love in our hearts before we did meet.
This tiny, thin thread may stretch, tangle or fray
But our love for her grows stronger each day,
Through the test of time it won't break or sever
She'll be part of us forever and ever,
With oceans between us, the distance is spanned
By a love that is greater than man could have planned.
For God in His Mercy loved her and us
And decided our family would be a great plus.
So for now we'll just love her and pray every day
That God keeps her and loves her for us till we may
Travel to China, that land of great past,
To the side of our daughter, to hold her at last...

Gotcha Day

So August 27, 2007 Our long awaited journey came to past and our lives were blessed by Emma Lei Long. She was not to fond of us at the time. Her world had been turned upside down. But the world that was going to open to her was just beginning.

Where Did They All Come From

You will never meet none like them. Another family that touched our lives in so many ways..We are blessed...

Some People You Never Forget

Our dearest friends in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. These are people we spent so much time with in Indiana. They adopted us as Family and they will always have a special place in our hearts..They have added one, Justin which is not pictured...

Alabama Here We Come

Take a look at Cooper who is an Alabama Fan all the way and Miss Emma who is right along beside him. One of her first words in English was "Roll Tide"...probably because she got such a response from us....
